Section Manager – Leading energy network management company – Wetteren / Fleurus

For our partner, a reputable player in the energy network management sector specializing in overhead/underground installations and maintenance of distribution networks, we are looking for a Section Manager.

Being a leader in low voltage electricity, gas, and water distribution in Belgium, they have a strong presence across the country with major sites in Wetteren, Fleurus, Basècles, and Wegnez.

They are deeply involved in modernizing existing networks, including the conversion of 220-400V and the development of smart meters.

Your missions and responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Department Manager, you will hold the technical and commercial responsibility for the Connections division. This division comprises project managers and dedicated teams.
  • Oversee project operations in compliance with public market regulations and organizational standards.
  • Coach and develop your team members; functionally manage detached personnel from technical and commercial functions.
  • Be responsible for all division performance metrics: revenue, budget, and margin targets, as well as maintaining operational and investment budgets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various project managers across Belgium to improve operational standards.
  • Contribute to strategic thinking at the level of the division’s operations.

Your profile:

  • You hold an Engineering degree (preferably in electromechanics) or have equivalent experience.
  • You have several years of experience in the energy sector which gives you full technical autonomy in project management.
  • Strong command of team management, with excellent “people manager” skills.
  • Your soft skills include leadership, decision-making, good sense, and organizational capacity.
  • Fluent in French and Dutch
